<body> <p>Welcome at hermineart.com - Hermine van der Linden's artsite!</p> <p>I (Hermine van der Linden) was born on 1st May 1945 in Leiden, the Netherlands. I'm married and have 3 children: 2 sons and 1 daughter. I now live in Mortroux, Belgium (near Maastricht) in a rural environment.</p> <p>I have always been interested in painting. When I was still a little girl I was very impressed by the Hummel figures and made little paintings of them in watercolor. Now painting has become an important part of my life.</p> <p>With my family I have lived for 5 years (1982-87) in Switzerland (Wohlen, near Berne). My daughter was born there. After this, we moved to Canada for one year (1987, Hamilton, Ontario). I was very much impressed by the Canadian "Group of Seven".</p> <p>For more than 10 years I have been associated with the Maastricht (The Netherlands) painting group "Porte de Tongres", together we spent several painting holidays in the South of France (Provence).</p> <p>My paintings have been exhibited in Maastricht, Belgium and Switzerland. I participated three times in the <a href="http://www.artmirer.com/"> Rudolf Mirer</a> painting summer course in Samnaun (Switzerland). Two of my paintings can be seen in the town hall in Compatsch. Since 2000 I supervise a one week summer watercolor painting course, organized by the Tourist Office of <a href="http://www.samnaun.ch/">Samnaun</a>.</p> <p>After 1 year on the Academy of Art (Maastricht) I focus more and more on acrylic techniques, photography and ceramics.
